College Football Week 3 Preview

Week 2 Recap

  • Shades of 2007?
    • Baylor, Texas A&M, and Notre Dame were all ranked in the top 10 last week and all lost in excruciating fashion – in total 7 ranked teams went down over the weekend. I’ll take as much as I can get; 2007 was one of the best seasons of all time so bring in the chaos!
  • Scott Frost is gone
    • Should’ve happened before last season, but I guess better late than never. Have fun with that extra $7.5 million buyout Huskers.
  • Texas may be back this time
    • The Longhorns were a questionable roughing the passer call and an injury to Quinn Ewers away from upsetting an uncharacteristically sloppy Alabama team. If Ewers recovers quickly and the defense continues to improve, the top of the Big 12 could get very interesting.

Most Interesting Matchups

#13 Miami @ #24 Texas A&M

The U looks to take advantage of A&M’s quest to join the “2007 Michigan” school of disappointment and unattainable expectations. If the Aggies keep this up Jimbo Fisher might need tickets to Birmingham Bowl instead of Atlanta come Championship weekend.

#11 Michigan State @ Washington

Going cross-country as a road underdog may be unusual for the Spartans and the Huskies will look to take advantage of Jet lag and a surprisingly beneficial spread.

#12 BYU @ #25 Oregon

Can BYU continue its Cinderella run or will the Ducks prove that the Georgia game was a fluke? A fun nightcap on this week of college football action.

FCS Game of the Week

Delaware @ Rhode Island, 9/17, 1PM

Battle of the small states – should be fun who comes out on top here.
