Lamar Miller played 8 years in the NFL, really 7 years but we’ll count his one game with Chicago in 2020. Miller was an unspectacular yet solid running-back. Taken with the 97th overall pick in 2012 by the Miami Dolphins, Miller won the starting job in 2013 and spent the next 6 years playing as a starter
around the league.
Over his four seasons in Miami, Miller ran for almost 3,000 yards and scoring 19 touchdowns. Not much of a receiver early on, he put up a respectable 887 yards through the air with the Fins. His 2014 and 2015 seasons were very strong however. Miller’s 1374 and 1269 all-purpose yards were both impressive totals. In 2014 Miller’s 9 touchdowns along with his 1374 yards were good enough to make
him the 11th best running-back in fantasy football. He followed that up with an RB6 performance in 2015 before signing with the Houston Texans before the 2016 season.
His first season in Houston was a bit of a regression fantasy wise, but Miller still rushed for over 1,000 yards and scored 5 touchdowns. His RB17 finish wasn’t great, but he put together a strong season nonetheless. His 2017 and 2018 seasons in Houston were similarly strong. Miller finished as RB14 and RB22 respectively and was a solid NFL starter both years. In 2018, Miller was selected to his only ProBowl, capping of his career with an impressive accomplishment.
An RB2 stalwart for a number of years, Lamar Miller remains one of my favorite oft-forgotten random running-backs from the 2010s. A Chicago Bears legend with his 6 receiving yards, how could you ever
forget the name Lamar Miller?
