Week 2 Recap
Compared to Week 1, Week 2 was a bit lighter on the drama, but there was still some fun to be had. We’ve got a few high-profile matchups this week in the SEC and ACC, as teams struggle to get a leg up in early conference action. It only gets crazier from here, and the only way to learn just how much is by playing on.

Most Interesting Matchups
Vanderbilt @ South Carolina: The Gamecocks are looking to improve on last year’s close miss on the playoff, and certainly have the talent to do so. However, Vanderbilt knows a thing or two about upsetting contenders and are certainly not to be overlooked.
Clemson @ Georgia Tech: After a mixed set of results from the first two weeks of the season, Clemson dives straight into the ACC conference slate. Georgia Tech may not be at the level of LSU, but they do have a knack for making things difficult for ranked teams.
Georgia @ Tennessee: Despite a relatively high degree of success over the past few years, Georgia has proven to be a consistent thorn in the Volunteers’ side. A win this weekend can go a long way towards another playoff berth for both teams, but would mean a lot more to the team from Knoxville.
Texas A&M @ Notre Dame: After a tough week 1 loss, this appears to be the hardest remaining game (aside from USC) on the Notre Dame schedule. Should they clear the Aggies, the Irish have their path (relatively) clear to a high playoff seed, albeit with zero margin for error. A&M desperately wants to be taken seriously on the national stage, and now they get a chance to prove it by knocking their rival out of the race entirely.
South Florida @ Miami: The USF Bulls are riding their hottest streak since 2007 and are looking to make it 3 ranked wins in a row. Miami has looked solid for the first few games of the season but you can never rule out a clunker from them on a national stage.
FCS Game of the Week
Lehigh @ Duquesne, 9/13 12PM, ESPN+
Eastern PA vs Western PA collide in the FCS equivalent of Pitt vs Penn State (please bring that game back). OK, maybe there isn’t quite the history between these two teams, but the Dukes will host the Mountain Hawks in one of the most unique stadiums in all of college football – see the title picture to see what I mean.
