College Football 2025 Week 14 Preview: No Room for Error

It all comes down to this. One last chance to prove your point, punch your ticket to the postseason, or just end the year on a high note. In between the cupcake games and blowouts, last week somehow managed to both answer questions and create a few new ones as well. None of the Power Four Championship game matchups have been decided, nor has a clear frontrunner emerged for the Group of Five spot. Hold on to your hats, because here we go!

Most Interesting Matchups

Texas A&M @ Texas: The Aggies are one win away from their first undefeated season since 1939 and their first ever trip to the SEC Championship Game. The Arch Manning-led Longhorns are slowly playing up to preseason potential, but will that be enough to take down an extremely motivated Aggies squad?

Miami @ Pittsburgh: Both the Panthers and Hurricanes need a little help to reach the ACC championship game (seriously, the clinching scenarios beyond UVA/SMU are rather complicated), but there’s so much at stake in Pittsburgh this Saturday for both teams.

Ohio State @ Michigan: The Buckeyes and Wolverines meet for the 121st time in a series that Michigan has reclaimed with a vengeance after an era of Buckeye dominance. Last year’s edition proved that records and trends mean nothing in this game; merely the motivation to humiliate the other.

Vanderbilt @ Tennessee: The Volunteers hold a six-game win streak in this series and a commanding lead overall. However, this is a new Commodores team with a Heisman-hopeful quarterback and a possible at-large playoff berth spot on the line. If there was ever a chance to break the streak, now is the time.

Georgia @ Georgia Tech: The Yellowjackets were knocked out of the ACC Championship via the aforementioned loss to Pitt, and need a virtual miracle to change that. After such a disappointment, can they channel that energy into win against a Bulldogs team that has seemed to get better all week. Time for some “Clean Old-Fashioned Hate.”

FCS Game of the Week

Yale @ Youngstown State, 12PM, ESPN+

The battle of the uppercase Y logos takes center stage as the first round of the FCS playoffs kick off in Ohio this Saturday. Long live the original college football playoff!
